🏰 Empire Faction & Title System

The Empire is a new high-tech faction. Building good relations with them unlocks psycasts, advanced technology, and one of the win conditions.

  • Titles (low to high): Yeoman β†’ Acolyte β†’ Knight β†’ Consul β†’ Count β†’ Duke β†’ Praetor β†’ Emperor
  • Each promotion requires: enough honor points + meeting bedroom/clothing/throne room requirements + a bestowal ceremony
  • The higher the title, the more "lowly" work the pawn will refuse (Counts won't sweep floors or haul)
  • Don't promote your main workers too high β€” they'll become useless for manual labor
⚠️ High-title pawns refuse manual work β€” think twice before promoting your grower or builder. Usually it's best to give titles to your social pawn.

πŸ”Ί Title Progression Ladder

From Yeoman to Emperor, each tier unlocks more power but at increasing cost:

Title Psycasts Requirements 🟒 Acolyte Level 1: Burden Β· Blind Β· Stun None πŸ”΅ Knight Level 2: Berserk Β· Focus Bedroom β‰₯ 20mΒ² 🟑 Consul Level 3: Berserk Pulse Β· Invisibility Bedroom β‰₯ 25mΒ² 🟠 Count Level 4: Skip Β· Teleport ⚠ No manual labor! 🧠 Psycast System

Psycast LevelRequired TitleUnlocked PowersKey Use
Level 1AcolyteBurden, Blind, StunSlow / control single enemy
Level 2KnightBerserk, FocusTurn enemies on each other
Level 3ConsulBerserk Pulse, InvisibilityGroup control + survival
Level 4CountSkip, TeleportTactical mobility
Level 5DukeNeural Heat Dump, Mass BerserkUltimate crowd control
Level 6PraetorSummon, FarskipMap-wide mobility
πŸ’‘ Psycasts generate Neural Heat β€” too much heat and the pawn collapses. Don't chain-cast too many abilities.

πŸŽ–οΈ Royal Permits

  • Raising your title grants permit points you can spend to call in Imperial support
  • Airstrike: Call an Imperial shuttle to bomb a target area (very powerful!)
  • Royal Guard: Summon Imperial soldiers to fight for you
  • Supply Drop: Request a drop of food, medicine, or steel
  • Shuttle: Call an Imperial shuttle for relocation or emergency evacuation
  • Permit points are limited β€” you can only pick a few permits. Choose the ones you need most.

βš”οΈ New Equipment & Weapons

  • Monosword: The strongest melee weapon, extremely high armor penetration
  • Zeushammer: Anti-mech specialist β€” EMP + high damage
  • Shock Lance: Non-lethal takedown, perfect for capturing prisoners
  • Locust Armor: Deploys a circular shield that blocks ranged attacks (but also blocks your own shots)
  • Jump Pack: Lets pawns perform short-range jumps β€” pair with melee weapons to backline dive
  • Psychic Enhancer: Imperial tech implant that boosts psy-sensitivity

πŸ›οΈ Bestowal Ceremony & Throne Room Requirements

  • A bestowal requires a Bestower to fly in on a shuttle to your colony
  • The Bestower cannot be interrupted during the ceremony (a raid = ceremony fails)
  • Bedroom requirements: Duke needs 35mΒ²+, a double bed, and excellent-quality furniture
  • Throne room requirements: 80mΒ²+, luxury carpet, piano, gold sculptures
⚠️ Don't wait until the Bestower arrives to start building β€” prepare ahead of time.
