π About
One person, one computer, a thousand hours of RimWorld
π― What This Site Is About
RimWorld Guide is a survival handbook written for newcomers.
RimWorld has a steep learning curve β three people crash-land and nobody tells you where to start. Chop trees, dig into mountains, grow crops, defend against raids, keep your colonists from mental breaks... every step is a trap. I've played over a thousand hours and fallen into every single one.
This site strings together all those "I wish I'd known that earlier" moments so you can dodge the same pitfalls. Coverage includes:
- Starting colonist and landing site selection β skill combos and biome choice for your first three pawns
- Base building β from the first wooden shack to a full survival base
- Combat and defense β killbox design, weapon choices, handling different raid types
- Pawn management β mood, skills, relationships... keeping your colony from falling apart
- Research β tech tree planning, what to research first and what to skip
- Four DLCs β Royalty, Ideology, Biotech, and Anomaly, each with complete guides
- Mod recommendations β essential mods and load order tips
π€ Who I Am
Just a regular RimWorld player. Not a pro, not a speedrunner β just someone who loves this game.
When I first started I died in every way imaginable β killed by squirrels, starved in winter, my base burned down after a pawn fight... Over time I developed my own playstyle. I built this site to organize what I've learned and help clueless newcomers, just like I used to be.
The site currently has 15 guide pages and 16 original SVG diagrams, and it's still growing. If you find something wrong or have a better suggestion, I'd love to hear from you.
π° How This Site Is Funded
Domain and hosting come out of my own pocket. To offset costs, the site runs Google AdSense ads.
Ads won't get in the way of your reading β no pop-ups, interstitials, or anything that blocks content. Just some display ads in the sidebar and at the bottom of articles. If you use an ad blocker, no hard feelings β all guide content is completely free.
If you find the guides useful, the best way to help is to share the site with other RimWorld players. More traffic means ad revenue can cover the costs.
